Happy Tuesday morning everyone! I am headed in to the red Barn to work all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We have our famous butternut squash today! We are gonna sell a ton of these! Love,Laura
Way back in March I bought tickets to a show of a lifetime for me and three friends. I was so excited to share with them and we were all packed to go to Boston to see the play Hamilton, I was so proud because these were the best seats to the most poular show in decades. I was just settling in and all packed for out trip to Boston on Sunday. The phone rings and Holly tells me that she just looked at the tickets and they were for Saturday and NOT Sunday. We all four missed the show! I was speechless and felt so stupid for getting the date wrong. I let everyone down and my best-laid plans were a bust. I cried myself to sleep and was so angry that I could have overlooked something so important. My best friend in the whole wide world (who also missed the show) showed up on Sunday morning to take me to breakfast. Initially I was too despondent to go. She insisted and kept playfully nudging me with her shoulder and I relinquished. We went to the Senator and sat in a booth. Pam,our server, brought two mini muffins for us. I watched Chris take the muffin and pop it in her mouth. I took mine and did the same. We giggled and I forgot completely about my mistake. My best friend can make me feel so special just by loving me through anything. We had a girls' day and it was perfect. Sometimes the best laid plans have to go wrong for everything to go right. Love, Laura
Happy Monday everyone! I am having my coffee and then going to the Barn to clean and pay bills. This Fall air makes the puppies so frisky. Thier noses are high in the air and they prance toward every smell. Seeing my babies happy makes me so happy. The little things is life are truly those that matter. Love,Laura
I just got back from the movies with Chris. Pretty much on a daily basis I see myself in so many people who are suffering. I have daily reminders of the demons I have faced and seeing them in others is quite painful. More than often I felt my existence was a burden to the rest of the world. All I ever wanted to know was who I was and where I was going. Nothing added up for me and hopelessness was my only constant. Pulling out of the depths was incredibly difficult for me and I knew I was the only one who could do it. My decisions were my decisions no matter how much I wanted to blame others. It will always be painful to see others struggle like I did. My instinct still is to try to make it better for them and help save them. Things can get better and people can change. Life is here to be lived fully and there is no looking back. I have learned more by my pain than by my victories. The door to my past will always be ajar and that keeps me going. There is always, always hope. Love,Laura
Happy Sunday morning everyone! I had the best time with my sister and her husband this weekend. We walked the beach and had a camp fire. I toasted marshmallows for the second time in my life and it was magnificent. Mike will bring his guitar and play for me and we will frolic next Monday. Life is about letting go and being able to relax and be comfortable in your own skin. New beginnings are possible anytime you are ready. There is always, always hope! Love,Laura
Yup....can anyone relate? Love, Laura
This is so cute....
When the lobster roll calls, you answer.
I was walking my puppies and saw a most unexpected sight: a bunch of Croci in second bloom. They were not as gorgeous as when they first bloomed in April, but they were glorious nonetheless. I stopped to fully appreciate the fact that one can come out of "dormancy" unexpectedly and still be beautiful in the second bloom. I stood and reflected on my pain, heaviness, and afflictions and still managed to somehow come back from the brink and what I thought was death...but it was just that the real me was "dormant" for so long. We can all bloom despite the most adverse circumstances. The smell of fallen leaves and the last freshly mown lawn of the season wafted in the air and my singular, most immediate concern was that I hoped beyond all hope that I could be half the person my puppies think I am. Love,Laura
Happy Friday morning everyone! The driveway is all back together and I could not be more happy. Everything will flow better and the accessibility is so much better for everyone. Thank you for your patience! I am so happy! Love,Laura
A big cat toy!
I betcha most of you will get all of them! Love,Laura
Happy Thursday morning everyone! Our parking lot is almost finished and I want to thank everyone who came despite the construction. There was no interruption to our business and for that I am eternally grateful. Come and see us "paving the way" to continue to help others. Love,Laura
I love this...
We just had a bus from Miller transportation loaded with "leaf peepers" and it was awesome! They loved it and I hugged on every single one of them and they will be back. We love to cater to the seasonal busses and would love to spread the word to all bus tour companies out there!Love,Laura
Happy wednesday morning everyone! We had a great benefit for the Waterville Humane Society last evening and raised over $6200.000 including a $2,500 match from Modern Woodmen! We love helping and it makes my heart sing! Love,Laura
Many thanks to all who came out on this chilly, rainy night to help us raise more than $6400 for the Waterville Humane Society! Thank you, Patrick Linehan, for directing traffic, and for the $2500 donation from Modern Woodmen.
This was me today in our new parking lot! Love,Laura
